Blueoak Estates were delighted to acquire and refurbish two impressive Georgian townhouses located on Watergate Street in Chester City Centre. Just a stone’s throw from the Roman Walls and Chester Racecourse, these beautiful grade II listed buildings were originally residential dwellings but converted into offices in the 1960’s.
We began the conversion back into residential homes in 2012, using specialist materials throughout the build, including wattle and daub, lime plaster and horsehair techniques. Minton floors were refurbished and replica tiles commissioned. Covings and cornices were lovingly repaired or remoulded, and large sash windows restored. These handsome family homes stand proudly amidst the historic buildings of Chester city centre.
The location was perfect. We were looking for somewhere in a nice village where we could walk our daughter to school – and that’s what we have here. Alice started the local primary school the following September.
It’s a short drive into Chester so you’re straight into the city-centre but you come home and you’re in the countryside. It’s a perfect marriage. The buying process was simple and straightforward too. We bought this place and everything was done within six weeks and then we moved in.
