Chester lanterns
Experience the Magic of the Lanterns and Light at this very special event. The much loved Chester Lanterns at Chester Zoo returns for 2024, kicking off festivities on the 15 Nov and running through to 1 Jan.
Chester Christmas Market
Also returning once again is Chester’s Christmas Market. With 70 stalls dotted in and around the square, the town hall, the new arcade and the forum, visitors can browse, enjoy and pick up some amazing gifts handmade crafts, jewellery, accessories and stocking fillers. From 15 Nov to 22 Dec 2024
Dickensian grotto at Grosvenor museum
Experience the sights and smells of a Victorian Christmas! Set within one of Chester’s hidden gems, the historic Grosvenor Museum, the original Father and Mother Christmas will be hosting a very Dickensian Christmas Grotto. From 30 November
The Snowman film with live Orchestra
Make it to a special screening of family-favourite, ‘The Snowman’, accompanied by a live orchestra at the iconic Chester Cathedral. This is a magical event that’s not to be missed! 23 Dec 2024

Chester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival
Discover beautifully decorated Christmas trees displayed throughout the historic Chester Cathedral. This year’s theme, Discover Christmas: What Christmas Means to You, adds a thoughtful touch to the festive celebration. The festival runs from 22nd November 2024 to 5th January 2025.
Chester’s new Rooftop Social Club
Located on the 8th and 9th floors of the Pepper Street multi-storey car park, the Rooftop Social Club offers a festive winter experience with a twist. This vibrant space features stunning winter-themed décor and activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy winter games such as cornhole, curling, and table tennis, making it a perfect destination for a fun day out during the festive season.
