Blueoak Estates has handed over Alpraham’s first ever village hall, a new community facility developed as part of the trail-blazing, Tollemache Green housing scheme. The village hall is now complete and set for use by local community members and groups. The hall will be run by Alpraham & Calveley Reading Room Trust and will serve the wider community.

Iain MacLean, Managing Director of Blueoak Estates explained: “At every one of our schemes, we place huge emphasis on the impact our homes will have on a far wider scale. Here at Tollemache Green, we have essentially laid the foundations of a new community and as such we must ensure it has the right infrastructure and resources in place to help it flourish. The village hall is an important part of the development and will not only provide an invaluable resource for residents but will help bring the community together now and in the future.”

Tollemache Green comprises 20 contemporary country homes and has been designed and built with environmental principles at the core. Externally, a community orchard will house a collection of apple trees that can be harvested by residents, with views overlooking a wildflower meadow. The extensive planting scheme features shrubs and native trees. Bird boxes and hedgehog houses have also been installed to help local wildlife live and thrive.
