Designed by the award-winning Liverpool architects, Falconer Chester Hall and inspired by the marine Art Deco homes of the 1930’s, The Sail is set to be Blueoak Estates pinnacle development in 2018.
Eight apartments which combine unrivalled living space, location and luxury finishes will replace a vacant, six-bedroom home on West Kirby’s pretty promenade at the opening of the River Dee.
This immaculate development boasts dazzling panoramic views of the Dee Estuary and snowy Welsh mountaintops. Directly outside The Sail is one of Wirral’s favourite beauty spots, West Kirby Marine Lake, where the most prestigious team racing event in the world, The Wilson Trophy, is held annually.
This year, Blueoak Estates were delighted to be the headline sponsor of the three-day event which attracts sailors and spectators from across the globe.
The Wilson Trophy took place between Friday 5th May and Sunday 7th May. Although blessed with two beautiful sunny days on Friday and Sunday, the changing wind made conditions challenging for the crews, who travelled from as far as the USA to participate.
Deemed the best Wilson Trophy yet, it was an extremely close race this year as thirty teams battled it out to take the top spot. After 351 exhilarating races, the Birdham Bandits of Itchenor Sailing Club were eventually crowned the winners. The Royal Thames Yacht Club came in second place and local team West Kirby Hawks of West Kirby Sailing Club were awarded third place.
It is safe to say that it was a thrilling weekend for all involved.
